Thompson Rome opens, managed by a joint venture between AG Group and Rossifin

As anticipated a few months ago, Thompson Rome by Hyatt officially opens in the building known in Rome as 'il Bottegone', where the PCI headquarters historically stood on Via delle Botteghe Oscure.

The 5-star hotel, which marks the Italian debut of Hyatt's Thompson Hotels lifestyle brand, is managed by a joint venture between AG Group and Rossifin Group, where the group led by president and CEO Andrea Girolami provides hotel expertise, while the Rossi family's industrial and real estate holding company has injected the capital for the hotel's redevelopment, also guaranteeing the long-term lease of the property.

During the renovation, the original architectural elements, including a dramatic marble staircase, a sculptural wall and an inlaid floor by Italian artist Gio Pomodoro, were restored, regaining a prominent role in the hotel's spaces.

The building, which boasts 69 rooms, including 20 suites, also features various artworks in its common areas, including a collection of works by artists associated with the Roman School and the School of Piazza del Popolo, alongside contemporary works that reflect Rome's historic cultural openness and the international influences that have permeated it. Artists featured include Francesco Del Drago, Giangaetano Patanè, and Guido Strazza.
